Complianz is installed.
Does it block?
Complianz blocks the plugins and services it knows. Anything not on its list, or hard-coded in the theme, needs an entry in the Script Center.
The most common causes
The banner shows, the choice is saved, and data still goes out. Usually Complianz does not know the service or it loads past it.
| What | EU reference |
|---|---|
| Service not on the Complianz list Complianz detects plugins from its own list. For anything else, under Integrations, Script Center, block a script, iframe or plugin: enter the address it loads from or a unique function from its code. | Art. 5(3) Directive 2002/58/EC |
| Own script in the theme Remove the code from the theme and add it in the Script Center as a script, without the surrounding script tags, in the Statistics or Marketing category. Complianz then runs it only after consent. | Art. 5(3) Directive 2002/58/EC |
| Videos and maps Block YouTube, Vimeo or Google Maps iframes by address in the Script Center and pick a placeholder; it stands in their place until consent. | Art. 5(3) Directive 2002/58/EC |
| Tag in Google Tag Manager A tag without “Require additional consent” (Advanced settings) fires whatever was chosen in the banner. | Art. 5(3) Directive 2002/58/EC |
Step by step
Measure
Open the page without consenting and note which services load; then click “Reject” and look again. The report does this for you, with the address of each service.
Into the Script Center
Under Integrations, Script Center, block a script, iframe or plugin for every service found and enter the address it loads from.
Move theme code
Remove hard-coded code from the theme and add it in the Script Center as a script, in the Statistics or Marketing category.
Measure again
Check again without consent and after “Reject”. Only when the service is gone in both runs is it held back.
Questions
Why does Complianz not block a service automatically?
Complianz only blocks plugins and services from its own list automatically. Anything else needs an entry in the Script Center.
What do I enter in the Script Center?
The address the script or iframe loads from, or a unique function from its code. The report gives the address for every service.
What a scan shows
It opens your page without consenting, notes every service with the address it loads from, then clicks Reject and measures again. That address is what you enter in the Script Center. Free as well: check your email sender.
